A Word from the Pastor

Greetings in the name of the Lord!

Yesterday was Palm Sunday. The day we remember Jesus entering Jerusalem, a few days before His death and resurrection. The people gathered in Jerusalem that day were there in hopes that their Messiah was going to free them from Roman rule. However, Jesus came to set them free from greater things, namely sin and death.

As we celebrate His faithfulness and love, there two opportunities to remember this week.

Thursday night March 29th, we will be celebrating Maundy Thursday. This is the night we remember the last supper, Jesus’ last night before His death. We will begin at 7:00 pm and will look at Jesus last night and celebrate communion.

On Friday March 30th, our Youth will take lead for our Good Friday Service, which also begins at 7:00 pm. We will be hearing more about the 7 last sayings of Christ. What did He say when He was on the cross and what did it mean? This will help us see just how much He loves us. For we see how much it cost for us to be saved.

Of course, next Sunday is Easter when we celebrate Jesus’ victory over sin and death. This is an important time of year and it is good for us to gather to give thanks for what the Lord has done for us.

May the Joy of the Lord and the power of what He has done, comfort and strengthen you. May it renew in you the joy of who He is and of His great love for you.

In Christ, Pastor Steve
